This fantastic collector’s piece was made in the middle of the 19th century by a French artist for Dina Vierny, one of the most famous art collectors in Europe. Dina Vierny (January 25, 1919 – January 20, 2009) was a French art dealer, collector, museum director, and former model for artists. Born Dina Aibinder, she was Maillol’s muse for the last ten years of her life. Matisse and Bonnard were other artists for whom she also posed for.
Exclusive original trunk lining from the 19th century of coller in black cowhide and patent leather aged by the passage of time, half-point brass buckle and ducal crown monograms. Head collar with semi-square blinders, front with black and yellow striped motifs, and flat circular cucarda; Patent leather collet with brass-plated steel ribs with some damage to the knuckles. Measurements according to attached photo. Complete packing restored in good condition to be used.
